I have Animal Crossing Wild World, the DS one. It was fun to play every now and then for a month or two, after that got a bit boring. Lots of nice / cute things, but the gameplay gets a bit grindy (depending on what you’re trying to do), reminds me of some of the things I don’t like about some MMO design, actually. I would go back to it for a bit every few months, then I stopped playing. I guess it’s more of a game to play in a relaxed way, working towards goals as the opportunity happens to arrive rather than trying to actively advance things, which isn’t my favorite style of game, but it’s good for what it is.

I think one of the differences is: wonderful visual things can make me want to stay still and pay attention, whereas wonderful music makes me want to move, and I pay attention to it by default.
